On Monday, I'll be leaving for New Orleans for a week. I went last year, and I'll be going back this year. While there, I'll be rebuilding houses for people that lost theirs in Katrina, as well as having a blast with friends. Of course, I won't be on eve as much, so just giving you guys a heads up. Im stilling thinking about if I should bring my laptop or not.
There will be a blog that you guys can read every night for updates, that I'll link you to once we're there and it's up.
Also, I'm sure most of you have heard about the awful plane crash in Buffalo by now. If you have read the story, you have surely heard about Beverly Eckert, a widow of 9/11 victim Sean Rooney, who was on her way to Buffalo for a weekend celebration for what would have been her husband's 58th birthday. This lady happened to live in my town, and was my best friend's next door neighbor actually. I had met her a couple of times, and she was a really nice lady. It put me and my friend in a real bad mood today, and dropping him off and seeing the news vans to film her house didn't really put us in a better one.
It's really made me think about how lucky I am.
So this next week, just think about how lucky you are. Not to lose a spouse, to lose a home, to lose a way of life.
